The goal of this postcard was to create an invitation that people would actually want to keep rather than immediately throw away. Instead of relying on a traditional church flyer aesthetic, the design focuses on energy, curiosity, and human connection.
The front intentionally leads with a simple question "Are You Coming?" paired with a playful smile graphic that immediately communicates warmth and approachability. Rather than listing information first, the design creates intrigue and encourages the recipient to flip the card over to learn more.
Authentic photography from Southridge was used throughout the piece to showcase real moments from the church community. Seeing actual families and children creates an immediate sense of belonging and reinforces that Southridge is a place filled with genuine people, not stock photography.
The back balances personality with practicality. Service times, event information, QR code, mailing elements, and supporting graphics are organized in a clean, easy-to-scan layout that keeps the information accessible without overwhelming the viewer. Custom illustrations and bold typography add visual interest while maintaining consistency with Southridge's overall brand identity.
A restrained color palette of white, black, and Southridge's signature orange ties the entire piece together while allowing the photography to remain the focal point. The result is a modern invitation that feels confident, welcoming, and memorable; designed not only to communicate information but to spark curiosity and encourage someone to take the next step through Southridge's doors.
