HVN.CREATIVE was built out of a love for making things; but making something beautiful was never enough.

The work should have a reason to exist. It should communicate something. Move someone. Help tell a story that deserves to be heard.

That's why HVN. exists: to use creativity in service of people and organizations doing meaningful work.

Hey there! I'm Michael; the designer, photographer, filmmaker, and creative behind HVN.

I've spent my career helping churches and organizations communicate what matters to them. Somewhere along the way, I realized the work I cared about most wasn't tied to one medium. Sometimes the story needed a brand. Sometimes a photograph. Sometimes a film.

HVN.CREATIVE became a place where all of those things could live together, and where I could work closely with people doing work I believe is worth sharing.

    You know your organization better than we ever could. We bring the creative perspective. The best work happens somewhere in the middle.

  • There's a reason behind the work.

    Creative decisions shouldn't exist just because they look cool. We ask questions, think it through, and build with intention.

  • You're working with the person doing the work.

    No layers of account managers or giant creative teams. The person you talk ideas with is the same person thinking through and creating the work.
